As we all know, the service life of a crusher hammer has close relationship with many factors, such as material property (the feeding size, kinds, hardness, water content, temperature), the linear speed of the crusher hammer, the deck seam size of the deck plate and so on, so knowing how to choose a better crusher hammer according to these factors is very important for our clients. And how to choose the material of the crusher hammers is also important.
Here I would like to share something about how to choose a better crusher hammer according to the crusher hammer material.
For a large crusher, if its material feeding size is over 400 mm, we should choose more than 50-125 Kg big crusher hammers. Because when the crusher works, a big impulsive force will oppress it, so we should ensure the working safety. So in this case, we should select the high-strength tenacity super high Manganese alloy steel material crusher hammers, and we can also choose the alloy high manganese-steel material.
For a medium crusher, if its material feeding size is less than 200 mm, we should choose less than 50 Kg crusher hammers. Because when the crusher works, a relatively small impulsive force will do on it, so the processing hardening function of the common high manganese-steel material crusher hammers can’t perform completely and better, so they are easily wear-out. So in this case, we should choose the alloy high manganese-steel material whose carbon content is the highest, or alloy steel material whose carbon content is medium or a little low.
For a small crusher, if its material feeding size is less than 50 mm, we should choose the less than 15 Kg crusher hammers. Because when the crusher works, a smaller impulsive force will do on it. So it is not suitable to choose high manganese-steel material, but the medium carbon content alloy steel material, while the best choice is the compound casting crusher hammers, whose heads are made of high chrome casting steel material, and whose handles are made of 35# steel or low alloy steel material, and these two kinds of material each perform their advantages.
For the fine crushers, if its material feeding size is less than 100 mm, a medium impulsive force will do on it, so we should choose the high tenacity super high chrome casting material, whose hardness is over HRC60, and whose impulsive force tenacity is more than ak8J/cm2, which all make its service life 3~5 times longer than the high manganese-steel material crusher hammers.
